3 Summer Getaway Ideas

The season is one that’s a little bit tougher to get through for those of us who pull the usual 9 to 5. It’s easy to catch ourselves staring out the window amidst a world of stress and work that’s piled up in front of us. Rather than surfing around looking for the perfect getaway, it’s time to take some action get out of town for a little bit, while relaxing underneath a palm tree, or enjoying the blue ocean water. Here are some great summer activity breaks for you to try out when it seems like you’ve had enough at the office.

Myrtle Beach, North Carolina, United States

With beautiful weather from February to November, there isn’t much of a time that’s not good to head to Myrtle Beach, Carolina. This beach is a pristine tourist attraction, with lots of family-friendly events to keep everyone entertained. Unlike several beaches in the US, this one isn’t crowded with bars and nightclubs that disturb your relaxation time, so you’ll be sure to have the chance to suck it all in while you’re laying out in the sun.

Pigeon Point, Trinidad Tobago

The most popular portion of Tobago is known as Pigeon point. The beach only makes up a few of the 41 miles of sand that Tobago boasts, but here, the white sand seems to do a little more for those that just want to get away from it all. This beach spot gets away from the more commercialized areas of Trinidad and Tobago, with homely shops that seem to fit right in with the setting. You can’t get here by plane, but you can find a ride from Crown Point, so make sure to put this on your to-do list.

If you’re looking for something more luxurious and relaxing at the same time, then the Maldives in Sri Lanka may make the perfect getaway. The more than 1100 islands that make up the Maldives feature four-star hotels and resorts that are perfect for those who want to be pampered. Additionally, all of the resorts at this luxurious spot offer lots of excursions that allow you to get out and swim with the fish, or get a little dirty with some off-road quad riding. Grab yourself a lounge underneath a tree and you’ll immediately feel a soft breeze that relaxes you if it’s too hot out.

There is nothing like a summer beach break during a long, hard year to leave you feeling refreshed, energized, and feeling grateful for life.
