An introduction to fitness holidays

Big Bay Boot Camp 2012

Sometimes, the need to lose weight needs to be put on priority. Even the slightest distraction can completely detract from your ability to stay focused on your exercise routine to get in shape and shed the pounds. In the same way that you take a holiday to an exotic island to get away from the stresses of everyday life, you can take a fitness holiday to make sure that you stay on track with your efforts to become more physically fit. Fitness holidays are a short getaway from all of the distractions that can interrupt your workout routine and can offer great results when the usual gym routine doesn’t seem to pan out for you.

This form of bootcamp takes place at a secluded location. A group of people just like you, who are looking to get away from distraction and focus on weight loss, will join you on your excursion to the location and scenery of your choice. Normally, you’ll have lots of locations to choose from, with a different setting available that can suit to almost anyone’s tastes.

Before any of your routine can begin during your healthy holiday, a doctor must give you a full physical to help determine your workout program. With certain health conditions, some programs aren’t recommended for people. This physical gives your trainers the ability to maximize your weight loss and muscle gain while preventing any possible injury that could come as a result of your health condition.

Now that you’ve got your physical handled, it’s time to get to work. At your bootcamp, you can expect around 10 to 12 hours of intense physical exercise. Depending on your custom routine, the plans will change throughout the day. You should also expect that much of that exercise will be outdoor hikes and nature walks that are meant to get your heart rate up and speed up your metabolism. Most of the workout will be cardiovascular, as these types of exercises encourage weight loss over other routines.

When you sign up for a fitness holiday, you’re taking action not just physically, but nutritionally as well. On-hand nutritionists will be with you during your entire trip to make sure that you’re eating right, and that when you leave the holiday, you have a nutrition regimen that’s meant to help keep up your weight loss program as well as the healthy eating style that you became acquainted with during your stay.
